Erin O'Connor: caused a row between TV3 and RTÉ

Tensions between RTé and TV3 reached new heights last weekend in the picturesque seaside town of Kinsale. And all because of supermodel Erin O'Connor.

Arriving for an appearance as part of the Irish Design Fashion Weekend, O'Connor had been due to give an interview to Lorraine Keane of TV3's Xposé.

But just hours before the interview was due to happen, RTé bosses banned the top model from talking to TV3 because she is soon to be seen in RTé's series Ireland's Top Model.

Cue a barrage of angry exchanges between Ballymount and Donnybrook chiefs.

One TV source told The Diary: "Things got so bad they were calling it the Battle Of Kinsale." In the end, both sides saw sense and Lorraine Keane's chat with O'Connor went ahead .

Meanwhile, The Diary has heard Xposé could be the latest TV programme to stage a live show.

It seems that, even with six shows a week, numerous newspaper columns and magazine features, the TV3 girls retain their fascination with some viewers. So this summer fans can meet them in the flesh at their own show at the RDS.
