ULSTER CLUB SFC SEMI-FINALS

ST GALL'S (Antrim) v CLONTIBRET (Monaghan)

Athletic Grounds, Armagh

Gall's are the favourites with the bookies here. They're now veterans of November football, bidding to reach their third Ulster club final in five seasons – and indeed their second All Ireland final in five seasons. Clontibret though are coming off a fine win themselves, beating Tyrone champions Dromore by the exact same scoreline Gall's saw off Armagh champions Pearse Ógs two weeks ago – 0-10 to 0-8. Paul Grimley has instilled a discipline and steel into them that will make this another low-scoring grind but Gall's might just shade it by the odd point or two.

Verdict St Gall's

KILCOO (Down) v LOUP (Derry)

Casement Park,

Loup are just like Gall's in the other semi-final – favourites on account of being the only other Ulster club of the last six years other than Crossmaglen to win a provincial title. But Kilcoo, fresh off winning their first county in 72 years, have shown they care little for pedigree and reputation in the manner in which they disposed of perennial Donegal champions St Eunan's a fortnight ago. The Derry side have all that experience to call on – including former county star Paul McFlynn who kicked five points last day out against Derrygonnelly – but the force appears to be with Paul Devlin and Kilcoo.

Verdict: Kilcoo
