Snoop Dogg
Malice in Wonderland
EMI
Rating: 3/5

Snoop's new album begins rather unsettlingly with an intro from his son encouraging Dad to play that song he likes. The track that follows, 'I Wanna Rock', talks about slamming hos on their backs. Hmmm. The rest of the record is a mixed-up trip, some tinny West Coast feel, lots of ringtone material, dark beats, Snoop's trademark cartoon seductive voice, as if he's coaxing a feral cat from behind a bin, and the usual gang-banging tales of sexual prowess. There are moments of tightness, but presumably there's not enough interest in Snoop anymore for this to make it further than the stereos of suburban souped-up Mazdas.
