And here's the weather forecast for your next family outing to the movies: cheese and macaroni with a likelihood of pizza showers and scoops of jelly later. No need for umbrellas, however: the feast is all on the screen. Phil Lord and Chris Miller have animated Ron and Judi Barrett's popular children's book about a much-mocked boy inventor Flint Lockwood (Bill Hader) who creates a gizmo that causes the heavens to rain food. Local mayor Bruce Campbell sees a way of putting his fishing town on the map as it snows ice-cream and giant pancakes flop from the sky. Rookie weathergirl Sam Sparks (Anna Faris) gets a global meteorological scoop, but Flint's dad loses all his sardine customers. Tuck in and enjoy.
