Vocals and bass: Paul McCartney
You have to have a member of the Beatles in a fantasy line-up so I'm going with Paul. He's legendary, quirky and groovy. It's not so much the sound that comes out of his mouth that is so remarkable, but the words. As a songwriter, I admire his ability to tell stories. I'm not one of those fans who wishes he'd quit music and let his legacy speak for itself, I still think he's great now.
Guitar: Rodrigo y Gabriela
They're a duo from Mexico City who play on nylon guitars. They come from a rock background but are more acoustic rock now. They are mental and melodic and play with undeniable fury and fervour.
Drums: Brian Viglione
Viglione from the Dresden Dolls wears underwear on stage and sings and dances while playing the drums: that would add a bit of style. Alternatively, I think Carter Beauford from the Dave Matthews Band is an extremely lyrical drummer and listens to the song.
Keyboards: Stevie Wonder
Probably Stevie Wonder or Herbie Hancock. They are tremendously epic players who have reinvented funky piano. Jools Holland is always really fun, too.
