Gardai in Blarney, Co Cork, are investigating an arson attack on their own station in the early hours of this morning. The building was extensively damaged by the blaze, which happened while the station was closed overnight. The alarm was raised by a security at the nearby Blarney Woollen Mills. The door of the garda station is believed to have been kicked in before the blaze was started. A burned-out car was found at a nearby cemetery and Gardai are investigating the possibility that it may be linked to the blaze.
