Mount Carmel

The Mount Carmel group has been refused planning permission to demolish all of the existing hospital buildings in the Churchtown campus in order to construct a new hospital and 40 residential units.

An Bord Pleanála has rejected the application on the basis that it would "be contrary to the proper planning and sustainable development of the area" and "would be visually obtrusive and would seriously injure the visual amenities of the area".
