Dress from M&S

The Statement - Love triangles

With digital and graphic prints having a moment, this dress from M&S, with its Paul Klee-like pattern and figure-skimming shape, is right on the money, and looks a lot more expensive than its €65 price tag. Expect to see a lot more of this eye-popping trend from here on in as the high street gets busy copying the riotous prints of Dries Van Noten and the kitsch of Moschino. From romantic florals to abstract designs, designers went mad for pattern this season, with a particularly strong African tribal lean coming through. Think draped dresses and gold souk-like jewellery for summer, but in the meantime think warmth; this dress comes into store this month and would look great with a simple knit, thick tights and heels.

The Steal - High street hot

Check out these gold-detail architectural peep-toes which scream Alexander McQueen or Balmain but are actually just plain old Dunnes Stores. High-street heels just got even hotter! A bargain at €35.

The Detail - Easy single

Despite the fact that most of us are still getting our heads around how to wear them, all-in-ones remain one of the defining trends of the new season. This ruffled 1980s number would look great with heels and a blazer or dressed down with high tops and a denim jacket. A snip at €30 at Awear.

* Is there anything scarlett johansson can't do? Not content with sitting on her laurels, being a mega film star and treading the boards on Broadway, she has now turned designer and do-gooder for Mango. * ASOS seems to be expanding upon its range of designers and brands by the day, but its own range of clothing and accessories is pretty fabulous too, and relatively inexpensive – the majority of dresses are under €50. Also, don't miss their range of retro sunglasses, which start from €12.
