Lighthouse Cafe, Valentia Island, Kerry Every year a convoy of my family and friends heads to west Kerry for our holidays. We always make at least one pilgrimage to the Lighthouse Café. And while the views there are breathtaking and the atmosphere is wonderful, if I'm honest it's the desserts that fill my July daydreams.
Nurse Jackie It's one of those programmes that you start hearing about and you fret, 'What if the show starring the brilliant ex-Soprano Edie Falco doesn't live up to the hype?' So you switch on with your eyes closed and after five minutes you breathe a sigh of relief. Yes, she's amazing; yes, it's original; yes, it's dark; yes, it's hilarious. Yes!
Digital radio Having worked in radio for years, I am really excited about this new development for programme makers. The joy of digital radio is that it provides a wider choice of radio stations, it's easy to use, and it's resistant to the interference which other broadcast media are susceptible to.
Ice cream We were in Italy in September and I ate towers of gelato. Yum. But back home it's hard to beat the humble Super Split!
Baby kicks I am seven months' pregnant with our first baby and while I will happily give you a list of complaints I'm experiencing, from insomnia to swollen ankles, whenever the baby kicks it just stuns and amazes me and silences my moaning. I'll be busy running around and in the middle of something at work and then out of nowhere – wallop – and all I can do is sit down and laugh!

Apparently hilarious YouTube clips Yes, your flatmates are 'gas' and 'mad', but why would I want to watch big Al trying to break a world record by shoving plates of beans into his gob?
Lack of street-name signs in Dublin As the reporter on The Gerry Ryan Show for the last few years, I have spent hours of my life driving around Dublin trying to find various addresses and the one consistent thing that irritates the hell out of me is the lack of street signage. There you are, trying to follow garbled directions, turning on to a road, slowing down to a crawl, annoying every other driver as you desperately scan the side of houses for a clue to find out where you are, and nothing! Grrrrrrrrrr.
When Liverpool lose It casts a shadow, a cloud, a darkness over our lives. Well, his life… and I have to live with it.
Comments about your pregnant shape If I wasn't pregnant, would you still walk up to me and announce loudly, 'My god – you're enormous!'?
Video shops It's Saturday night and we decide to get a DVD. He doesn't do rom coms, I don't do blood. So we settle on something neither of us really wants to see. We get home, stick on the TV, and Channel 4 is running some top 100 list that we start watching instead. The DVD sits there unwatched until Wednesday, when we finally return it and pay a fine.
