Taoiseach Brian Cowen and Northern Ireland's first and deputy first minister will meet US President Barack Obama at the White House on St Patrick's Day to discuss progress in the Northern peace process.

President Obama was the latest leader to welcome the North's power-sharing deal, saying it is an important step on the path to greater peace and prosperity.
