TOMÁS MacGiolla, former president of the Workers Party, is to be laid to rest in Dublin tomorrow.

The 86-year-old, who passed away in hospital last Thursday after a long illness, was removed to Ballyfermot Civic Centre yesterday. MacGiolla was a former TD for Dublin West from 1982 until he lost his seat in 1992 when the party split and the Democratic Left party was formed. He also served as lord mayor of Dublin.
