Coach Shaibu Amodu will not lead Nigeria into the World Cup even though he guided the side to third in the African Nations Cup.

A statement on the Nigeria Football Federation website released after a meeting in Abuja revealed the organisation's technical committee had been asked to look for a new man.

Amodu took the Super Eagles to the semi-finals of the African Nations Cup, where they lost to Ghana.
